There is one Chicago team that is already at the top of its sport.
If you have not been following the local scene for a little while, that team might surprise you.
The Chicago White Sox are running away with the American League Central (again), and will head into the MLB Playoffs as one of the favorites to win an AL pennant and possibly a World Series.
Would you have ever thought that at the beginning of the decade, as the Blackhawks were about to embark on a period of three titles in six seasons, and the Cubs finally broke through and negated the jinx with a World Series title in 2016?

Now, it is the South Siders that are the kings of Chicago, and the White Sox might be set up to dominate Major League Baseball for a decent amount of time.
What to keep in mind before betting the White Sox
As the teams come down the stretch this season, Chicago is near the top of the futures betting odds, despite the fact that the White Sox have played nowhere near full strength all season.
Chicago is around +300 to win the AL Pennant in 2021, and will most certainly start the next couple seasons around the top of the futures odds, because the White Sox are the clear class of the AL Central. Unless something drastic changes, Chicago will be a good bet to win the AL Central and the AL Pennant (and maybe the World Series) in 2022, 2023, and beyond.
Chicago has both a strong offense and pitching staff, and will be able to set up its rotation down the stretch in 2021 due to the rest of the division.
Best Bets on the Chicago White Sox
Right now, the White Sox will go into most of their games until they clinch the division as favorites, so you have to find some different ways to bet on them. Maybe look at the run line (-1.5) or the team total, as those could give you a monetary advantage over the money line.
On the futures betting, the AL Central is almost done, so that provides very little value. Of course, if you have $3,300 lying around to win $100 back, then it is basically a lock at this point with a double-digit lead in the standings.
So that brings us to the AL Pennant odds. At around +300, the White Sox are a very live play to win the American League. Of course, Tampa Bay (the defending champions), Boston, and Houston are very good as well.
Chicago might also be worth a shot on the World Series odds (+800) to win its first title since 2005.
